Topic: 3. Using business databases
Lesson Lenght: 1 hour or 2 hours	Notes: Seniors: age 55+
Task/Objectives: Training seniors in the scope of computer using to enable them to use law and business databases.
Description of Activity/Activities: The lessons are carried out by the staff of the Business and European Information Centre (CIBiE) in the Regional Public Library in Krakow. During the lessons there is an opportunity to get to know the rules of using the following databases: Online Public Access Catalog LEX – law information database Serwis HR – working law and personal management information Profesjonalny Serwis Bankowy – banking, economic and financial law Prawo Ochrony środowiska – environment preservation law Serwis Budowlany – building service Serwis Prawo i Zdrowie – law and health service. The participant familiarize with the rules of using the collection of the Business and European Information Centre (CIBiE). Each group is divided into three subgroups, practicing by every separate compute. The meetings for each group are held 3 weeks on Thursdays. Apart from giving information about databases, the participants in our course are training practically. It might be useful to mention, the databases in the Business and European Information Centre (CIBiE) are free of charge and avaible in the CIBE’s opening hours, so the participants have an opportunity to improve their qualifications. The participants of the course familiarized with Internet comparisons between prices, Internet dictionaries and also with the educational-multimedia portal.
